Montessori Botany Bundle

1. Flower Identification Cards and Matching Activity (M): a. Print colored masters on card stock and laminate. Lay out large flower cards in rows. Have child match small petal cards to corresponding flower. I like to back small cards on sticky cork to make them a bit more substantial. b. Print large cards on card stock and laminate. Using a 1⁄2” book ring, make into display book. Offer blank student sheets for children to color in.

2. Inside/Outside Edible Bingo (M): Print player mats on card stock and laminate. Print small pieces on card stock and laminate. To prevent sliding, you can apply hot glue to the back of the small pieces which will provide some friction. Keep small pieces in a bowl or basket and choose one piece at a time. If child has the corresponding inside of the fruit on their mat - they should cover it with a jewel or coin. When a child gets a vertical or horitzontal line, they win!

3. A Little Seed For Me to Sow Poem Booklet (M): Print master on card stock and laminate. Keep as cards to lay out or using a 1⁄2” book ring, make a display book. Offer child a blank copy to either color in or illustrate (there are two versions).

4. Leaf Changing Color Mixing (M): Print colored masters on card stock and laminate. Can be set up as a book using a 1⁄2” book ring or kept as cards. Provide child with one set of blanks (one set has the color guide at the top to follow and one doesn’t). Can be used with paint, watercolors or chalk or oil pastels. Colors at top of page dictate what colors to “mix” together to make the gradation of lead color change.

5. Flower + Bean Life Cycle Banners (M): Print colored master and cut on grey lines. Punch holes on black dots and string together with twine or small paper fasteners. Provide child with blank student sheet to color, cut, order and string together.

6. Seed Nomenclature Cards (M): Print on card stock and laminate. At the grocery store, you can usually find these things in the bulk section - only buy a little bit of each! I like to keep them in small, clear containers and have children match the containers to the cards.

7. Types of Trees Cards for Toob (M): Print on card stock and laminate. These are matching cards for the Trees TOOB (Safari Ltd.).
